According to Ayurveda, mung lentils are said to be tridoshic & can balance any disturbances in the body. Hence it is used widely to make various dishes like Dal khichdi, dal soup, and Moong dosa. Mash it well and keep it ready. You can either pressure cook or you can cook in a pan.

Instructions to make Moong Dal Fry:
  1. Wash the dal twice properly. Boil in pressure cooker for 3 whistle. After 3 whistle. Switch of the gas. Cool it and take out lid. Once it is done. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in kadai. Once the oil is hot. Add cumin seeds, few curry leaves and 1 dry red chilli. Let it crackle for few minutes.
  3. Add chopped onion. Fry till it becomes light brown in colour. Then add chopped tomato, chopped green chilli, a pinch of crushed garlic and ginger. Saute it for few minutes.
  4. Slow the flame add all the masala, hing. Saute it for few minutes. Once it is done. Add boil dal. Mix it properly. Add water as needed. Add salt to taste. Cook till it becomes gravy.
  5. Transfer to a bowl. Garnish with coriander leaves and add little butter. Now it is ready to serve Hot…Moong dal fry with garlic nan

Mash it well and keep it ready. You can either pressure cook or you can cook in a pan. Finely chop onion, green chilli, ginger, garlic and tomatoes. Heat a heavy bottomed vessel with ghee/oil and splutter jeera. After spluttering,add onions and fry for to min till translucent and add ginger garlic paste and fry till fragrant. moong dal recipe
