  1. Get 1 cup toor dal
  2. Prepare 2 cups water
  3. Get 1/4 tbsp turmeric
  4. Get 1 tbsp salt

  7. Make ready 2 green chillies chopped
  8. Make ready 1/2 tbsp Cumin
  9. Make ready 2 tbsp ghee

So you don't need a ton of spices here. I have just used a bit of garam masala, chili powder and kasuri methi for that fragrance at the end. dal fry recipe is a popular Punjabi dal fry. A mixture of moong and masoor dal cooked to perfection in dhaba style dal fry and perked up with an aromatic tempering along with fried onions and tomatoes. Steps to make Dal fry:
  1. First cook dal in a pressure cooker.
  2. Now take another pan, heat pan, take ghee in it, now add cumin, green chillies.
  3. When they turn brown, add onion and let it turn pink.
  4. Now add tomatoes and cover the pan so that tomatoes get properly cooked.
  5. Now add 1/2 tbsp Maggi masala and 1/4 tbsp salt. (If you have already salt to dal else you could add 1 tbsp salt)
  6. Now mix everything.
  7. Add this pan mixture to the pressure cooker. And stir.
  8. Now let it boil on medium flame.
  9. Serve
