- Take 8-10 slices Black pomfret
- Get 1/4 cup rava / semolina
- Get 1-2 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- Prepare 1 pinch turmeric powder
- Get Half tbsp freshly prepared ginger- garlic paste
- Take as per taste Salt
- Get 1 tbsp thick tamarind juice / lemon juice
- Take as required Coconut oil for shallow fry
Make sure you make cuts in the fish before applying the paste, as the masala penetrates better inside the fish, so it's highly recommended. Steps to make Pomfret Rava Fry:
- Clean the black pomfret slices 3 to 4 times in clean water. Drain the water and keep the fish slices aside.
- For marination, add Kashmiri chilli powder, ginger- garlic paste, turmeric powder, tamarind juice / lemon juice, salt as desired and mix well. Add 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil and mix well. Water can be used if necessary to get right consistency for the marinade. Take each slice of fish and marinate it well. Set aside for 15 min.
- Set a wide frying pan on medium flame and add around 4-5 tbsp of coconut oil. Ensure that it is smeared well with oil. Meanwhile, take rava in a plate and dip in the fish slices. Coat both the sides well with rava and then place it for frying. For the first 5 min cook under medium flame and then simmer and cook for 2 min. Flip it over and cook again under low flame for 5 to 7 mins or until its done. Switch off the flame and serve it hot with a slice of lemon.
