This sweet is prepared from Til (sesame) and Gul (jaggery) which warms your body.we use special Jaggery which is called 'Chikkicha Gul in Marathi to make this sweet. Tilgul Vadi is a light snack perfect for winter months. Made with seasme seeds and jaggery, Tilgul Vadi is exchanged commonly during the 'Sankrant' festival or the harvest festival of Maharashtra, with greetings that say "tilgul ghya god bola". Til ladoo - where the jaggery syrup is cooked till a soft ball consistency.

Instructions to make Tilgud vadi / sesame seeds and jaggery fudge:
  1. Grind the roasted sesame seeds coarsely. Remove from the pot and keep aside.
  2. Then grind the roasted groundnuts coarsely. Remove from the pot and keep aside. Grease the plate with 1/2 tsp ghee and keep aside.
  3. Heat the ghee in a pan on low flame. Add jaggery and mix well.
  4. Let the jaggery melt well. Even small pieces of jaggery should melt. No need to make syrup.
  5. Make sure jaggery should melted well. Add 2 tsp milk and mix well. Switch off the gas.
  6. Add coarsely grinded sesame seeds, ground nuts, half of grated coconut, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder.
  7. Mix it quickly.
  8. Transfer the mixture into the greased plate. Spread it well.
  9. Sprinkle dry grated coconut. Let it cool down a little not cool down the mixture completely.
  10. Now cut it into desire shape.
  11. Tilgul vadi is ready to serve.
